A BETTER PLACE

In the aftermath of a Valentine’s Day that ended in tragedy near the iconic Union Station in Kansas City, I am reminded of author Jim Price’s words: “You can make the world a better place. Let your light shine… shine … shine.” Dr. Price’s words are on the back of his book, A Trip To The Park, the first book in his series, The Adventures Of Harold From The Hood. On the front cover of the first book is a snail in a green shirt with the words “Love and Peace.”

Since his first book in 2021, Dr. Price has published two additional books in The Adventures Of Harold From The Hood series: Friends Like Different Things; and Fun Time Lunch Time. Dr. Price’s books are focused on teaching important social skills.

Dr. Price was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts. A former basketball player and a school counselor in the public schools, Dr. Price recently received his Doctorate of Education from American International College. You can learn more at https://jimpricebooks.education.

THIS WEEK’S ACTIVITY

Write down all of the parks and trails you can find within fifty miles of where you live, and make a plan to visit each of them over the next few months. For those of you near Kansas City, Swope Park, Loose Park, and the Sante Fe Trail are great options.
